Terms and Conditions 

All users must agree to these Terms and Conditions prior to use. 

By using the facilities at Hopewell Dog Park, you automatically agree to these Terms and Conditions.  

These Terms and Conditions, permit the Client to use Hopewell Dog Park for exercising dogs under close personal supervision at all times.  

  • DO NOT ARRIVE to your booked secure area more than 5 minutes early. IF you do get to Hopewell early, please wait IN YOUR CAR near the main farmhouse.

  • You must wait in your vehicle until it is your turn to use the facilities. Make sure no-one is in the field or barn before you enter and release your dog – should someone still be in the field when your booking starts, please inform me immediately 07872 527518. Please DO NOT approach the other person to avoid causing stress with nervous/reactive dogs. 

  • All dogs must be kept on their leads between the car park and the secure fields. All of our outdoor secure areas now have available parking INSIDE the secure boundary, so you can drive in, lock the gate behind you and release your dogs from the car during your booked time.

  • The enclosures are secured with 6-foot high fence, if your dog can jump over 6 feet then we may not be secure for you.  

  • This booking is between the client and Hopewell Dog Park and may not be transferred or sub-let to any other person, without consent from Hopewell Dog Park.  

  • Parking is permitted in the designated car parking area, and there is room for ONE car to park in the Adventure Field and Obedience Field and THREE cars in the Woodland & Meadow and the Forest Walk. Please be aware that the road coming from Knaresborough ,(Park Lane onto Hay-A-Park lane): leading to Hopewell Dog Park is also a bridleway, so please DRIVE SLOWLY and be courteous to walkers, bikers and horse riders. 

  • This is an outdoor venue, please ensure you take simple precautions to protect your health whilst using the site e.g, wearing suitable footwear and wearing suitable clothing, using fly/mosquito repellent and sun tan lotion etc.

  • You are responsible for picking up your dog’s waste, but we also ask if you see any poo at all, please pick it up. As the fields are large, there is a possibility you may miss your own dog’s poo, but if you pick up any you see, others will pick up yours. 

  • Dogs using the facility must be regularly treated for flea, tick and worm prevention. 

  • On exiting the field, please ensure you close the gate properly and always lock the gate behind you, even if someone is waiting to use the field. This will ensure only authorized access is granted. 

  • Bookings start on the hour or half hour. Make sure you are out of the field before your time is up, to allow sufficient time and space to safely exit and to minimize contact with other users and dogs. This is important as these facilities are intended as a safe space for nervous and reactive dogs.  If you arrive late for your booking, you must still leave on time. 

  • No smoking, grooming or littering on site. Please use the bins provided for all rubbish and take all your belongings with you when you leave. 

  • This is a NO PRONG COLLAR, NO SHOCK COLLAR establishment. Please leave them in the car, or at home, or better yet… in the bin.

  • The site can only be used by persons over the age of 18. Users under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. 

DOG WALKERS

  • Hire of the secure areas is allowed, on a one booking for ONE DOG WALKER basis.

  • Dog walkers MUST be INSURED, and they must only bring the number of dogs that they are insured for.

  • Dogs MUST NOT be left in the vehicle whilst other dogs are exercised.

  • Dogs MUST be SUPERVISED at all times in the secure areas.

DOG TRAINERS

  • Hire of the secure areas is allowed, on a one booking for ONE DOG TRAINER basis.

  • Dog trainers MUST be INSURED

  • Dogs MUST NOT be left in the vehicle whilst other dogs are exercised.

  • Dogs MUST be SUPERVISED at all times in the secure areas.

DANGEROUS DOGS ACT

Please use the “DDA DOGS” booking option through our booking page.

Our insurance covers dog breeds on the dangerous dogs act if they adhere to this code of conduct :

1. The dog is registered with the index of exempted dog (IED) and a copy of the life certificate is obtained and provided to us in the event of a claim.

2. A copy of the public liability insurance certificate for the dog is obtained and provided to us in the event of a claim.

3. The dog handler ratio is 1:1 with their handler at all times unless with other dogs from the same household

4. The dog is Neutered – in line with Government Rules

5. The dog is Micro Chipped

6. The dog is kept on a lead and muzzled until the gate is shut when entering the field

7. The dog is put back on a lead and muzzled before opening the gate to leave the field

8. You can remove the lead and muzzle once inside the secured field

9. If the household has more than 1 dog, they can come to the field together as long as they have a minimum of 1 handler. All dogs leads and muzzles can be removed once in the field including the XL Bully. 

10. If there are dogs from different households, the banned breed will need to remain muzzled and on a lead at all time with a 1:1 handler

Equipment 

  • The equipment provided is there to enrich your dog's experience and is intended for DOG USE ONLY. Before using the facilities, please ensure that your dogs are physically fit and able to use the facilities.  

  • Please monitor your dog's wellbeing carefully and stop immediately if any signs of injury or distress are shown. Consider using warm up exercises to ensure risk of injury is minimized. Do not push your dogs to use any of the obstacles, allow them to go at their own pace and always only use reward-based training. 

  • Do not use the equipment in wet or icy conditions as surfaces may be extremely slippery. 

  • Undertaking agility activities is not advised in young or very old dogs, due to potential impact on their health and physical development. Use of the equipment is at your own risk. If your dog is considered to be a puppy, I strongly advise you not to use the agility equipment. 

Welfare 

  • Do not bring your dog to the facilities if they have been unwell in the last 48 hours, this includes diarrhea and will help prevent spread of any illness to other dogs. If your dog is showing any signs of illness up to two days after using the park, please inform me on 07872 527518. 

  • Never leave your dogs unattended whilst onsite, and do not leave dogs in vehicles whilst you walk other dogs in the field. 

  • As this is an outdoor venue, please ensure you take simple precautions to protect your dog's health whilst and after using the site e.g, washing paws, checking for ticks etc. 

Liability  

  • Use of the fields, barn and the provided equipment are entirely at your own risk. We will not accept responsibility for injury, illness or death of any person or dog, or for damage to any property. We also accept no liability for any losses, claims, actions, damages, costs, expenses or other liability incurred whilst onsite, using the field or any of the equipment. 

  • You are liable for any damage caused inside or outside of the fields by you, your dogs or any person in your party. You are advised to insure your pet for all eventualities but this must include third party insurance (liability insurance). 

Cancellations and/or amendments must be made no less than 24 hours in advance. With notice, we will always do our best to provide an alternative slot, if you are unable to attend the original. 

Privacy : Hopewell Dog Park is committed to ensuring your privacy is protected at all times. We hold your personal information in order to provide you with a service and for internal record keeping.  

 

Failure to adhere to any of the terms and conditions, will result in refusal of future use of the facilities.  

Spot checks will take place throughout the day
